Who We Are

The Austin County Office of Emergency Management is responsible for comprehensively planning for and responding to and recovering from all manner of disasters, whether man-made or natural. 

The Austin County OEM also ensures that other agencies not only follow these plans, but fosters communication amongst the responding agencies.

The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC), in partnership with Austin County and various local entities, has released the draft 2024 Hazard Mitigation Plan for public review. The plan aims to address natural disasters and enhance regional preparedness. Residents are encouraged to review the document and provide feedback using the provided form.
